2016

March 19 - March Concert: An Enchanting Evening of Opera & Song

Held in a packed Hall, the event was attended by the Mayor of Waverley, Mike Band, and his Mayoress, both of whom were encouraging everyone to donate generously.

The evening's programme with soprano, Fleur de Bray, and baritone, Thomas Humphrey, was exciting and thoroughly enjoyed by all, and much credit also goes to pianist, Raya Kostova, who not only accompanied both singers but also entertained us with several Chopin Nocturnes.

The Evening raised over £3,000 and, once again, our gratitude goes to The Mayor, Mike Band.

Jan-March - Guys and Dolls, starring our Patron, Sophie Thompson

A fantastic evening was enjoyed at the Guys and Dolls on February 29th.

At Curtain Call, Sophie addressed the audience on behalf of Dan's Fund for Burns and, thanks to the wonderful Cast who rattled buckets, the huge sum of £814 was raised for the Charity.

We are grateful to Sophie, her Producer, and the entire Cast for giving us such a wonderful opportunity AND a fantastic show!

December 19 - Dan's Fund For Burns Christmas Charity Ball

Dan's Fund For Burns would like to thank all those who supported the Christmas Charity Ball at Charterhouse School.

The event was a sell out and was really well supported by both our long term Sponsors and local new Sponsors. The guests were greeted by the Mayor of Waverley and enjoyed a prosecco reception before sitting down to a delicious 3 course meal interspersed with fund-raising games.

A silent auction ran during the meal and a live auction kicked off after a speech by Polly; after the auction the fabulous Mirrorball Band kicked off their set and the frivolities started at the photo booth!

With all bills paid and all donations now collected we were delighted to confirm we raised an amazing £33,010.80!

Thank you to our Sponsors, Prize Donators, Guests and Givers of gifts in kind, and a special thanks goes to the committee for all their hard work in the run up to the event, to The Mayor of Waverley Borough Council for choosing us as one of their two charities for his term in office and to our Title Sponsor, Merronbrook Ltd, a Manufacturer of Quality Timber Frames, Roof Trusses and Floor Joists.
