Dan’s Fund For Burns Adult Burn Survivor Weekend

Following on from the success of our last adult burn survivor weekend in 2019, Dan’s Fund For Burns hosted another Adult Burn Survivor Weekend on 8-10 September 2023, at the Barnett Hill Hotel in the Surrey Hills.

The weekend brought together approximately 40 adult burn survivors (25yrs and over) to connect, share experiences, relax and have fun.  The event kicked off on Friday evening with a Quiz night which was a great icebreaker and everyone soon started to relax.   Saturday began with a stretch and breathwork yoga session followed by some presentations and throughout the day, one-hour deep scar therapy massages, compliments of Restore Scar Therapy, were on offer for all burn survivors.  There was a dinner and dance in the evening and then after Sunday breakfast, there was a short debrief and reflection on the weekend with lots of great feedback and most importantly, all glad they came and shared in the weekend.

An amazing and inspiring weekend for all who joined and lots of connections made with plans to keep in touch.   We’re hoping to do this on an annual basis so watch this space!
