2020 began with the wonderful news that Polly, DFFB’s CEO & Founder, was awarded an MBE in the Queen’s 2020 New Year Honours List.
Polly was nominated and successfully chosen in the Queen’s New Year Honours List 2020 to receive an MBE for her services to people with burn injuries. Having started Dan’s Fund For Burns (DFFB) in 2003 following the loss of her then husband, Dan, and suffering a burn injury herself in the Bali bombings, she was determined to help burn survivors rebuild their lives. DFFB offers practical, financial and emotional support to burn-injured adults. It was good to have her hard work, energy and endless commitment officially recognised.
Polly was due to receive her award in person in April 2020 but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the ceremony was cancelled. She is looking forward to being able to attend a future Investiture at a Royal residence to receive her award.
